Damn old beta rom... :(

Can you power up to edl mode?

If you can. Power up to edl mode.

Donwload latest stable rom 9.5.2.0.tgz file. Unzip as per usual.

Donwload miflash official or beta version depending on which version works with your pc.

Miflash your Mi Max.

It will be wipe out flashing.

This should help you get back your Mi Max.

Read up the procedure in Miui forum about how to miflash Mi Max.

Yea, very old rom. Didn't do any updating since then. Any reliable website to refer to EDL. First time doing all this.
Wipe out flashing means all data will be gone?
Data not backup yet and it has important stuffs. Any other method?

Hmm... Or you can use twrp method to flash the recovery rom of 9.5.2.0 with the option of not clearing anything including cache.

With it, you can probably keep those (most) data intact and do a backup before you do a proper Wipeout miflash again.

First time. A lot of thing to read up first.

For miflash refer to this.

http://en.miui.com/thread-307139-1-1.html

For twrp. You need to unlock the bootloader first. Read up needed again. Google it.

This method sounds good. Will go read up on it.
Btw, I read abt backing up using ADB pull or something, is this another option too?

Thank you for the link and help.
Appreciated!:)

No problem, bro.

As for adb pull backup. I'm not sure about that.

I root my phone. So, I always use Titanium Backup and manual backup and Google drive to backup my photos :)

Your MIUI <MIUI 8.1.3.0.0 l Stable> is a "fake" or modified one loaded by the seller/supplier. The MIUI rom has 4 digits only. Yours is 5 digits which is a "fake" one!

Your Mi Max will never get updated.

You will have to use the MiFlash (official Xiaomi Flashing Tool) to flash the latest official Stable 9.5.2.0! From there, your Mi Max will get updated just likes everyone else. :s22:

Got my permission to unlock. Face another problem, "current account is not bound to this device".
My phone do not have xiaomi account and in order to bind it, i need to go to developer, but it's now in bootloop. Is there other solution to it?

Opps! Tough then.

As far as I know. You need to login to Xiaomi account on your phone with a valid Sim number to be associated with each other in order to bind for unlock. Else, no way. It is all about security and safety.

I have no other idea to bypass it.

However, come to the worst. You can miflash it by choosing the option not to clean all. Hope that can save some data.

I guess that you don't have other choice now? Tough decision.

That's why I always advise people to unlock bootloader. It helps you to recover your phone and data in such cases.

eu rom is a custom rom made by debloating China rom and adding google services. OTA can be used on this rom. Vendor rom is made by each seller to include adware and will never receive an update.

EU rom OTA is actually using a TWRP script to do a dirty flash. It's not incremental. Nevertheless, the update is done very fast

yea, really headache now..

So I guess the last resort is "You can miflash it by choosing the option not to clean all" and hope data not wiped.

I will read up more to see if there is other methods available.
