I got a cheapo spare Xiaomi to test flashing EU ROM. Have unlocked the phone. Now awaiting first boot into EU ROM.

BTW, can you boot up into fastboot mode?

If can. Then, probably can install twrp and then flash to eu rom first. After that, flash back to official rom.

cant boot into fastboot mode, even fast boot mode also need press the vol +- and power button right?

Not sure how much is the battery replacement fee. It should be much cheaper than replacing a broken screen..

I've to wait ~12 days before unlocking my Mi Max bootloader. In the meantime, how do I backup most of my apps, to make it easier to copy the data and settings to the new EU ROM?

Settings -> Additional Settings -> Backup & Reset. Then go into Explorer on phone and copy out /MIUI/backup/AllBackup/?

72hrs is for the first device which I've just unlocked.

Oh it works now. Sorta.

The designers changed something in the ring/silent feature. I played around the settings there and it now vibrates fine.

The Silent toggle doesn't light up properly though.

The Silent toggle works fine after enabling MIUI optimization in Developer Options.

Flipped prata for a while already....3 weeks ago or rather I have been running 3 versions of Global Beta rom already!

I like the cute cute animated apps icons in Global Beta which includes the WhatsApp and Facebook animated icons..

So far for all my apps. The only app that gives problem with Global Beta is that the DBS app. It refuses to let me set up fingerprint login whereas with eu rom, it allows.

Anyway, it is not a deal breaker as I use the app once in a while only.

** Magisk rooted with Global Beta.
