seems like xiaomi is moving backwards rather moving forward

now the phone can't read Korean characters in the default mp3 app with the exception of web browsing

haven't try Japanese characters though

Redmi Note 3G still undergoing MIUI 6 beta testing, while yeah, Redmi Note 4G has received MIUI 6 with Android 4.4.4 update..

Sorry it has been a long time since I updated my note's firmware (3g, global) so currently it's rooted. If I wanna do a full wipe of data and cache before flashing to the latest v40, I just go to recovery mode, select wipe and reset then flash it right?

If you got your Redmi Note 4G from mi.com/sg , then it will be preloaded with Google Play services.
If you got it from China, then you have to separately install Google Play services to it.

for those who uses the China default rom that does not have google play. I would advise you to search for google installer apk.
as google play will need additional google services. hmm wonder it's long time I have not posted here so am not sure am I allow to show links here.. anyway for those who need the installer, it should be here Find all the Google Apps in Google installer! - App - Xiaomi MIUI Official Forum

never gonna buy xiaomi phone again, the os update is non-existent like samsung's ...

AHAHAAHHAHAHAHA...This is the biggest joke I see today.

When I paid ~4x more for a Note 3 at the very least it should it should perform just as well as the Redmi Note in everything, not having some f'ed up unstoppable indexing service or Samsung bloatware/Touchwiz to drain battery life like no tomorrow and make the Xiaomi look godlike in comparison.

My Note 3G camera is giving problems, not sure it happened before or after updates. A few times after taking a few shots then realized it's not working at all, got to reboot to make it work...

I noticed that even though I did a full wipe and factory reset in recovery for my note 3g, the installed apps still remain.. is it a bug?

mine keep asking me to add exceptions into the international roaming so that I can use the internet. any idea how to off it? damn irritating...

there's a very easy flash to root kit that doesn't change your rom, just changes a registry value iirc

go to miuidroid.com, they have weekly dev release, and are customised to international version.

don't even need to root or what just flash with select package at updater.

latest recovery allows you to revert to previous rom, rem do not flash twice if smth screws up, go back to the functional rom and flash again. if not it will keep the wrong rom as backup.
