Xiaomi AX3600 should be good enough for many users.

To be Frank, the so-called protection features solution on the Asus or TP-Link routers are mostly useless in reality.

I enabled Asus AIpropriation on my Asus RT-AX82U for a while and then disabled the feature. It detected nothing and just wasted CPU/memory.

You will be better off being careful online and then use things like Windows built-in antivirus features. So far I have not found the need to use extra antivirus apps under macOS, iOS and Android phones yet.

I do use Pi-hole DNS blocking and uBlock browser add-on as well as an added protection for the family members.

No Wifi 6E support in Xiaomi AX9000 global version.
https://www.mi.com/global/product/mi-router-ax9000/specs
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra supports WiFi 6E as it uses Qualcomm SD888. Other SD888 phones may support as well. For laptop/desktop, Intel AX210 adapters support Wifi 6E.

However, Wifi 6E band has NOT been approved in SG. They are not approved in China either and that is probably the reason why Xiaomi AX9000 does not support Wifi 6E.

There is no max speed difference between WiFi 6 or 6E for the devices, rather it is better because 6GHz band will be less congested with more wifi channels can be used and no legacy devices using the frequency bands.

Global FW version dump from OpenWRT Forum, international version 3.0.33. But as of now, it is not possible to flash Chinese version to Global FW (3.0.33 global FW is not OTA) as per the following OpenWRT forum discussions.

Xiaomi AX9000 SSH guide is said to work with global firmware version 3.0.33 as well (with second openwrt router).

Actually, what's the difference between the 2 ver? Global vs China?

Not so much info for the comparison between the two. There are very little stocks for the Xiaomi AX9000, be it China version or international version. So I guess there are not many users out there.

Global FW: English UI, Singtel VLAN profile support (only matters to Singtel ONT users).

China FW: Chinese UI, no Singtel VLAN profile support (only matters to Singtel ONT users)

Not so sure about whether there is a TX power limit in the Global version or not (like the Xiaomi AX3600 Global version).

Hi guys,

Looks like you are all experts here - hopefully I can get some help.

I bought the ax9000 recently but can't get it to connect to my Singnet ONT. My old router connects to DHCP automatically but the ax9000 can't seem to be able to do so.

Do I need to configure it manually? If so, do you know the parameters to key in?

Appreciate any help.

Thank you.

This is a tough job if you buy the China version because it does not support SIngtel VLAN.

First you need to have the SSH access.
https://openwrt.org/inbox/toh/xiaomi/ax9000
Secondly you need to edit the configuration file, similar to AX3600 China version.

I will say it is easier to get a TP-Link TL-SG105E to handle Singtel VLAN.

Thanks for quick reply.
I bought from the lazada xiaomi stall during 11-11.
It should be the global/Singapore version as everything is in English.
Does this support vlan?

By right it should support. Search for SingTel VLAN profile in the settings.

If there is no preset VLAN profiles (unlikely, Xiaomi AX3600 global version FW has the Singapore/Malaysia VLAN profiles), then you have to carry out manual VLAN settings.

Oh then mine must be the china version because there is no preset profiles….

Not really. If you buy from official Xiaomi Lazada shop and the web UI is English, it should be global version. What is the FW version? If it is 3.0.33 or later, it should be global version.

Does it have manual VLAN settings in the web UI? You may contact Xiaomi for help.

Worse case, just get a TL-SG105E switch and set up Singapore VLAN using the switch.
