I'm not sure I'm getting this right, I tried checking the pages in front and behind and all I'm seeing is you laying your speaker and speaker holder cup on top of an unmodified A-pillar ... how is this 70%?

Also, I read in that thread that you're going to DIY ... how exactly are you planning to do that? And why do you need to buy another pair of stock A-pillars to mod, you can always use the original ones from your car 1st and only buy brand new replacements when you want to revert to stock :s22:

I get the feeling you would have been better off buying those aluminium pods.

Due to time and Lenght of the project .....
I would not want to drive around with out a piller

Also to put back the stock pillar when it time to change of car....

70% done -

Speaker holder / speaker mount / position of speaker / fiber glass layer / sanding the edges .....
Please followed thur the pages for more .... It more then just laying and placing a speaker cups

Current job to be completed On the pillar - leather wrapping of the pillar

What the purpose of just " buying off" everything
Why not enjoy the process of DIY and learn something off it :)

Seem like DIY is not too popular in Singapore ---
All just prefer to pay and pay

I just don't like the idea of those aluminum speaker pod
Just like have them flush mounted into the pillar - look better

Uhh, you're missing the point ... you first gave a link to page 37 of the thread where the pic is of you putting the speakers on top of the yet-to-be-modified A-pillar, I see a few pages ahead and behind and nothing else about it ... people who are not interested in the Qashqai aren't going to go through another 90-something pages just to see if you'd posted further update unless you've point it out :s8:

But I'm impressed if this was DIY ... I would be particularly interested to see how you do the leather-wrap, especially on the parts where you have to cut the leather to go in different directions and where you have to join 2 separated parts. Please also share whether you are living in landed property or HDB / condo, and where you get the work done (i.e. whether at home or you go some place with tools / equipment to do all of this).

Thought for those interests may just scroll on :)

Any way --- I stay in a HDB flat :)
All these is done right outside my door

For the wrap - it will be a one piece to overlay the whole pillar

Guess my wife will be the most happiest once I finish off this project.
As it occupy too much space ...

Just need a few simple tools

Drill - drill bits , hole cutter , mounted points ( grind off the fiber glass / even out the surface )
Saw
Heavy duty staple gun - fairly important to keep the first layer of fabric
Sand paper - different grade - 100 / 200 is enff for this project

Material - fiber glass / wooden plank for speaker mounting / wooden stick - support / epoxy gule / epoxy / primer

Most important of all is lot of patience .....
By the way this is my first time attempting such works ....
But nevertheless , have done some other work which build on the experience .

Well there goes my landed-vs-HDB argument :s13: But I guess it also depends on your corridor layout (can't imagine doing this if you are staying in the middle unit along a long corridor) and also if you have good neighbours ... this day and age every small F@%#-thing neighbours also want to complain.

I don't think it can be that straightforward to just overlay 1 piece of PVC/PU leather though ... if it is, all the installers will be doing it. But I look forward to seeing the finished product.
