You seems looking for speakers alone. Well these speakers cannot work without an Amplifier. Therefore, you will need a something from here.

Based on your budget, i think you rarely could find any models from us. Can you up a $300 more to top-up to $800?

Hi, as expected, no matter which box I turned on first, the same symptom occurs. But once I power cycle the set-top box, all is good. I have one more question, with my TV connected to the HDMI out via ARC, if I surfed the net via SmartTV (like watching YouTube videos), how do I get sound from the SB? I switch to TV mode, but could only get sound from the TV speakers.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sent you a PM last nite (did that instead of posting it here becos forum "rules" indicates that I don't have enough postings to post images/links) but yet to receive a reply so far. Not sure if you received it so decided to post it here instead (but without the link since I don't qualify to do so).

Due to constraints such as placement of furniture & not wanting to run wires across the living room, I'm looking for a soundbar/projector instead of a amp + 5.1/7.1 system & YSP-2200 seems like a good candidate. But I've a few queries/clarifications before making a decision.
I've included a link to my floorplan for easy reference ->

1) Understand that YSP-2200 works by bouncing sound off walls/hard surfaces. Given the layout of my living/dining area, would I still be able to achieve a 5.1/7.1 effect?
2) With reference to the size of my living/dining area, is the output from the YSP-2200 powerful enough (not necc to the dining area or back of the whole area but at least to the sofa area)? Preferably I hope not to have to raise the vol to more than 1/2 or 2/3 of the max vol.
3) Had a quick listen to the unit @BD but found the subwoofer too underwhelming (no punch & I am less than 2m away). Am worried that the 100W subwoofer might not be powerful enough for my living area. Understand that the subwoofer is a passive one & the connection to it is via speaker-level outputs. Can I connect a powered-subwoofer (Yahama or others) to the unit? If yes, what kind of connections should the powered-subwoofer have?
4) With the unit, I'd be connecting my TV to it via its HDMI out & other devices (BD player/PS3/HD Set-Top Box) to it via HDMI in. Does it support HDMI passthru ie I am able to receive video & audio signals from the above-mentioned devices via the HDMI out without turning on the unit?

Finally do you do demo personally? Reason I asked is becos the promoter I spoke with isn't exactly very knowledgeable (not sure if he's a Yamaha promoter as his vest only says "Promoter"). Therefore not very convinced by some of his answers. So if you do, perhaps I can arrange for a demo. This way I can also ask other questions that might arise after it.

Hi based on above, anyone other advise? I can connect the set-top box directly to the TV, but my ARC don't seem to work, which means that sound is not going to the SB.....any advise?

Hi boxster, I jus combed the manual & I suspect we need to turn hdmi control setting to on. This will enable video & audio from hubstation to pass thru to tv if ysp is off. Hv u tried this? I can only try it coming wkend. Let me know if u succeed earlier.

Tried. Same issue persists. Dosnt matter which device on or off 1st. After some time after off everything, blue flashing screen returns. Audio however is coming thru ok. same as Boxster it seems.
