HBP medicine is it true once you start taking, you can’t take it off? Once stop, it goes back up? You become too reliant on it? My BP 13x/9x and my doc says take medication but I prefer not to start. Also i monitor at home, my BP is usually lower, normally 11x/8x but can go down to 9x/6x sometimes. It fluctuates a lot even within the same day.

I do not drink coffee at all since teenage days
take care bro

my height is 175cm, weight is 72-73 kg

diagnosed with HBL since primary school health screening (by MOH) back in 80s. family history shows my father's side most suffer fr HBL & high cholesterol

since secondary school every 6 months went to old Outram Polytechnic (last time opp Tiong Bahru Rd), then after 18 years old to NUH, for checkup & blood test, so far always ard 160/80

Nope... Was wondering if I should go see a doc to get some medication
if cannot be controlled by lifestyle and diet after 6 month, better to consult doctor for medication.
Cause after 140/90, it is actually slowly damaging your organs etc.

But got some cases, it is really due to stress..... 1 of my frds changed job, now 120/80 liao

By stopping the intake of HBP med, u run the risks of having HA and stroke. Tink twice ya

Actually height n weight doesn't tell you that you have high cholesterol or blood pressure.

Some people with high BMI but cholesterol and blood pressure are normal.

Best is to go for a blood test.

TS body Weak. Moi 174 weight 88kg. No hbp. I drink 6 cups of kopi daily. I smoke 1 pack a day.
6 cups of coffee???

With sweetened condensed milk...ordered as "Kopi Gau" or even "Kopi tilok"?

That explains why your BMI is very high, why you are overweight.

If you don't have diabetes, I can only say you do have a strong body with a very powerful pancreas that can supply an endless amount of insulin.

For someone who is 174, a weight of between 60 and 65 kg would be good. If you are muscular, 65 kg is about right - not bodybuilder level but a reasonably muscular fitzai.

u should find the root cause.......
buy 1 bpm and monitor.......

Consuming sodium will increase bp
Sleep late will increase bp
Stress from work, family, relationship will increase bp
Angry/scold people will increase bp
play games will increase bp

if u able to change your lifestyle/diet, can improve your situation.
You didn't mention....surf edmw, meet the nasty peepur (there are a lot of them in this forum) who pwn you....cannot recall if you are one of them or else I dare not write to you.

Each infraction point you get, BP goes up by 10 points. If you get enough infraction points, you are banned for six months. You may not return after that because your BP hit 200, and it's fatal..

Had it before. Try drinking 1 real fresh coconut water per day (not the carton type, use the one that you literally had to cut with knife). Do it for at least 3 months. After that, drink it 2x/week although the more is better.

It helped me to keep it at normal level until my doctor also confused.
Potassium,

BMI is already a good indicator for general population.

Unless you are like @moonraiser type. High BMI but due to muscle mass and weight lifting.

So general population with high BMI will most likely have higher chance of chronic diseases.
