High cholesterol

Actually this 3 high is very simple, but not so straightforward to cure.

It is called LIFESTYLE disease. So you either change your lifestyle (exercise and change diet) or just jiak medicine and maintain your (unhealthy) lifestyle.

Of course jiak medicine is the easiest and cheapest to do. Remember healthy and balance diet is nowhere cheap, even for homecooked prepare one.
But to me is not so straightforward, I practice IF, eat home cooked lunch with half bowl of rice, many veggies and small portion of stir-fry fish/chicken, early dinner is a bowl of oats with seeds, nuts and fruits.

I tried exercise 5 times a week with 30 mins each. Did all this for 3 months, my readings improve very little, still in dangerous zone, even my doc can't explain why I have healthy lifestyle with exercise still like that, so she gave me medication.

It took me about 6 months to have some impact last time. My TC level was borderline high about 220 last time and my BMI is normal.

High cholesterol doesnt mean die die will kenna heart disease or stroke one. There is still a large genetic factor involved.

Recently did body checkup, despite taking fish oil for few years still high cholesterol. Thinking of go JB buy some med. Can someone advice which med the best. Many thanks.
just makan what u like plus the meds doctor gave u

there no proof fish oil help to reduce cholesterol... especially ldl

But from what my observation, high cholesterol is caused by food intake and lifestyle.
So don't expect supplementary could help u.

My cholesterol above 5.20 (202mg/dL) before I hit 30. How to reduce ? I like to eat seafood , eggs. This week for one day I accidentally ate 4 eggs

If you don't have low blood pressure, could try brewing Shan Zha (山楂, Hawthorn Berry) Tea every few days. These are known to lower cholesterol level, improve digestion and reduce blood statis.

Dosage: 5g / cup.

You can get them from TCM store.

Exercise and Diet still need to be controlled though.

LDL is bad cholesterol
HDL is good cholesterol
it will tell us what kind of food u like to eat.... what to increase, what to reduce the food intake.

the most simple is jiak high fiber food.......
if u dun mind..... oatmeal.
for me, i just jiak plant sterols, broccoli, garlic oil......

Nothing to do with eggs. I used to eat 5 eggs everyday and my cholesterol stays about 130.

Causes of high triglycerides include:

  • Excessive alcohol use.
  • Unmanaged diabetes.
  • A diet high in sugar, saturated fat and simple carbohydrates.
  • Liver disease.
  • Kidney disease.
  • Medications like diuretics, hormones, corticosteroids, beta blockers and some HIV medications.
  • A body mass index (BMI) greater than 25.
  • Inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Smoking.
  • Thyroid disease.
  • Lack of physical activity.

avoid eating prawn, red meat.....
