It is called LIFESTYLE disease. So you either change your lifestyle (exercise and change diet) or just jiak medicine and maintain your (unhealthy) lifestyle.
Of course jiak medicine is the easiest and cheapest to do. Remember healthy and balance diet is nowhere cheap, even for homecooked prepare one.
It took me about 6 months to have some impact last time. I tried exercise 5 times a week with 30 mins each. Did all this for 3 months, my readings improve very little, still in dangerous zone, even my doc can't explain why I have healthy lifestyle with exercise still like that, so she gave me medication.

Try eating soft boiled eggs instead
there no proof fish oil help to reduce cholesterol... especially ldl
But from what my observation, high cholesterol is caused by food intake and lifestyle.
So don't expect supplementary could help u.
