Veggies, sure...but not high in starch....mostly greens, spinach, lettuce, okra, cauliflower, broccoli,
cabbage, bean sprouts, avocados, eggplant etc etc...lots of fibre in those but nothing that triggers insulin production.

So don't mislead TS by boasting about your meat intake.
Please disclose that you also eat a variety of veggies, because this is what is responsible for keeping your cholesterol under control in spite of high meat and fat. They work together hand in hand.
Recently did body checkup, despite taking fish oil for few years still high cholesterol. Thinking of go JB buy some med. Can someone advice which med the best. Many thanks.

Why did you get the impression I ONLY eat meat? Just because I don't wanna type long stories?
Was just addressing the foods that people care most afraid of.
I also eat fish oil but still have high cholesterol despite no family history, not fat (consider slightly under weight) and I exercise everyday. I changed my diet (cut down on fried food, red meat, animal organs, food with lots of gravy) also didn't help, also prepare my own lunch on working days (mostly steam chicken and veggies) since I likely will have dinner outside.
Been taking medication (low dosage) for almost 2 years. Recently changed from simvastatin to atorvastatin since the former didn't seems to help anymore. Side effects are the same, muscle aching.
Oats actually helps but must eat constantly to have effects.
How old are you and your body fat %?
You can be slight underweight, look thin, but have 25% bodyfat due to sarcopenia at 60 years old. Meaning you have a thick layer of fat everywhere covering your reduced muscles and inside.

I'm calling you out for boasting half truths. We're on the same page, i.e. I eat of lot mutton, beef and lots of green veggies & fruits. Basically, it's impossible to eat a lot of meat alone and NOT feel any side effects immediately after it.

when it shoot up again in 2020, how high was the LDL?
ApoB will be a better indicatior. I did mine earlier before CNY. Normal range for ApoB but LDL is 3.5 will the borderline high.
No medication recommended (age mid 40s) but not going to take chance this time. Going to get my diet in order again (much lesser meat and more veg), and try to get the LDL to below 3.0.
Bringing your own food should help. Less oil and rubbish in our own homecooked food. Better for cholesterol and health.
You can set me on ignore list, but you will end up not noticing that my challenge for you to clarify statements. My goal is to create sufficient doubt about your claims amongst other readers. It is the writer's responsibility to clarify.
You have high inflammation from eating rubbish food (most food you see in sg) and thus the high cholesterol.
Cholesterol itself is actually an item to help your body leh, it transport vital stuff to repair your arteries and thus the more inflammation you have in your arteries, the more repairs are needed and thus the more cholesterol the body send to the parts that needs repair.
Yes the human body produces cholesterol which is needed by our body.
All the articles I read and the info I got from doctors do not agree with your mum.
Just to share my best friend's late mum also on statin. Anyhow eat esp durians when in season coz she thought the med could help. Stroke at about 70 and got bedridden for about 10 years before passing (she was taken care of at home with two helpers and my friend spent a bomb, financially and emotionally, nursing her mum).
*but i know generally 'mums' are difficult to be convinced people but as a younger person, you may want to read more to safeguard your long term health.

How to wash properly
How to store or prepare
How to blend or juice
What to take note of
Recipes sharing session I wana try those Starbucks frappe leh
For at least 2 years diligently, everyday.
Don't expect results in just 1 week.
Because you eat: poor quality of veggies, including preparation that destroys that nutrients. Also you're missing key nutrients and unmodified essential fatty acids in balanced combination.
The body will self-repair and heal. Give it what it needs and time.
TC is above 350 and LDL above 270. Trigly around 50 and HDL above 70.
A very fit and sporty boy and all were shocked with his numbers.
Doc said likely hereditary and to recheck 3 months later then decide whether to be on statin.
I brought him to a heart specialist to get a Pre-Enlistment heart check/scan and doc said his heart is very strong and no scare he may collapse in NS. Posted to PES E9 (if i remember correctly) subsequently.
*This high cholesterol will render him buying insurance more troublesome in future (did get him to sign up for the MINDEF $300K cover that doesnt require medical underwriting).
High starch content food like rice, potato, carrots etc are digested in the small intestine...broken down into their smallest, usable components: primarily glucose, as well as some fructose and galactose. These are sugars and all trigger an insulin response.
Higher starch = Higher Insulin (because starch converts to sugar)
lol people think veggies help to lower cholesterol LOLOLOL. The health info 20-30 years ago really succeeded in brainwashing an entire global population sia. Veggie auto = healthy.
As far as I know, currently he eats like a 'typical' Singaporean with not much veg intake (since most meals settled outside = mostly hawker food).
He played basketball regularly since primary school till 18 yo when he fell during a match and tore his ligament (now waiting for surgery).
*his food was more nutritious when my mum was around and would cook for him. Then my mum passed when he was about 12 yo and there he began he 'eating out' habit). His own mum also high cholesterol and on statin in her 20s and that's why doc said 'likely hereditary'. But I see his Trigly quite low and so very reluctant to put him on statin 'yet').
