Anyone bought 42lm5800?
Saw it at Gain City MS selling at $899.

Don't need smart tv & wifi cos I hook it up to my PC via HDMI.
Seach the forum but don't see much reviews here, even google, so am slightly apprehensive.

Anyone with similar specs & price for other brands?
:)

Gaincity was selling 42LW5800 for $799 during their expo sale... This is a very new model so you couldn't find any review for it.

Went down to Mega Discount at United Square today, they are selling the 55LM6700 for $2700 with free 3D video camera, Skype camera, 4 x 3D glasses, Magic Remote, 2 x HDMI cable and 2 x clip-on 3D glasses (original LG). Free delivery, wall bracket and installation as well. 47LM6700 going for $1749 but with less freebies.

Your PC need to be DLNA capable first then when u networked to your LG TV via wifi or Home plug or wired. It will be shown as a input list in your LG TV. Although, u can easily play the supported video files from ur PC. It still has limitation with the type of subtitle files for mkv video files.

The easiest way is to download Serviio software from the internet. It is a free shareware. Install the Serviio software into ur PC. Your PC will now supports DLNA devices. it will be shown on your LG TV as one of the input device in the input list. U then can easily setup in the serviio software to link the folders that u store ur media files. It is quite easy.

Hope u can enjoy it. :s22:

Ya, technical spec is the same except design. However not sure if white is a longlasting color. Otherwise is quite nice.

Then maybe i shld just go for 6700..the white is nice but probably not lasting

Last week went down to survey survey at Court, the salesman told me not to buy LG 47LM6700 or 55LM6700. Reason being the LED for LG displays lesser details at dark areas as compared to sony/Samsung. True?

Also he say only sony can watch internet streaming from sites like function.com where else LG and Samsung cannot. I don't watch movies from streaming anyway so doesn't matter but still concern with "what if" I do.

Was keen to buy 55LM6700 but now KIV and research further.

Any advise from experts here?

you can always hook u the TV to your desktop/notebook. and the possibilities of surfing any website is endless. i do have a 47LM6690, and does not even use the SMART TV functions. nothing beats the speed and functionality of a computer right compared to the browser of the SMART TV.

i believe the salesman is just trying to upsell his other brands. follow your heart decision. the salesman also was trying to upsell Samsung when i bought mine.

First thing to remember is always do not take the word from salesman. The reason is clear. The guy spoken to you is clearly a promoter from Sony.

Everyone should know Sony use Samsung panel and do not offer 3 years warranty on panel but just TV only. Sony is just a more expensive version of Samsung.

Frankly, I owned the lm6700 since 2nd week of launch, till now is been few months and am enjoying the pictures so far and lots of 3D I've watched.

firstly, what do you want? do you need 3D? if yes, only LG is the way to go as less crosstalk and the glasses is cheap as well.

Why you care about streaming from funshion? If dark areas display is your concern, streaming junks from net is even worst as there's pixelation and noise. If really you need to watch streaming, get a cheap media player for less than $100 and stream till you like.

Important point : Buying a Full 1080p LED tv is to play 1080p at it's full glory, not streaming junks over the net.
What a joke salesman using this as selling point to market their product..:s13:
