hahhaa the whole idea is to quickly secure a house - much after my 5 failed attempt at BTO/SBF. And saving enough while paying off the loan for the house in lesser years, before upgrading to private.

dakota proves to be a strategical location, especially the number of good schools around it. kong hwa is definitely one that i will aim for, if i got a kid.

yet again this is subjective. i do not think of hdb bto as the final place that i will stay. its just a kickstart package introduced by the govt - a subsidised one, almost guaranteed yield - a prized asset in short. So the question is, will you sweat over 20 years paying 600k or 10 years paying 300k? thats almost the price difference you are seeing between a 4rm and 3rm. Without any hope or agenda, i target to own 2 property within the next 10 years. at least thats a plan. =:p

You have already provided your justifications, so it is difficult to change your mind with reasoning. There is a reason why non mature estate is cheaper than mature. It is based on resale transcations. So 5 years later, all your neighbours are trying to unload the so-called cheap BTO you have gotten (SHG and AHG grants are to lessen your future stress). Maybe 5 years after u collected keys, u will revisit this thread and understand what we meant. You might even lose money trying to sell your flat next time.

hahaha. im not here to change my mind. im not too sure what you are trying to put across anyway. it has nothing to do with mature/non mature estates, but rather 3rm or 4rm, so u might have missed a point there.:s22: and we are talking about subsidized and not grants. note that these are 2 different thing, absolutely polar. Subsidies are given, grant are not.

You and your significant other sound like you are on track to make a decent income in the short/medium term to pay off the 3-room and plan for the private property, so that's fine. Again, it's back to being sure you have enough space in the next ten plus years. I think one kid is fine, probably not more :s13:

You need to think about who are your prospective buyers if u already have the intention to sell? Note that u must sell off the 3rm HDB within 6 months after u got the condo. Take note buyers will lowballed you after seeing how small the kitchen and living room are.

since fembot aims to have 2 properties within the next 10 years, i guess space will not be a constraint even if he has more than 1 kid. just wondering why would anyone want to wait 4 years for a house that he is not intending to stay long in, and limit the $ he has in hand? and would technically have to stay a further 5 years before he can sell it? :s11:

No need to argue la. Condo's kitchen and bedroom sizes are getting ridiculously small as well, hence he doesn't mind the 3BR size.

I'm staying in the old EA now, if I ever move to the new 4BR flat, I sure need to do some adjusting. My toilets are the size of 2-3 full bathtubs. Now the new BTO bathroom only can fit one person.

If the mother is big bone size and need to bathe her 3 year old kid in the bathroom. Means can't enter together?

Are you sure? I'm pretty certain this is incorrect. One can own HDB & private properties as long as MOP is met for the HDB flat

This is correct but must live in the hdb unless with written approval from hdb..

I think that would limit to the certain 3 room flat?
Cause I rmb one has a limit of 5k while another is 12?

Limit is $6K and $12K. Usually 3rm flats under $12K limit is better plots, facing and amenities but base price is more expensive.

As long MOP is met, I'm sure he don't need to sell the hdb. That's what mop are for isn't it? To penalise richer sinkies who can afford Pte pty but decided to get hdb by making them wait those 5 years.

Good news for him, it is just a formality at the moment it seems. Most people I know who own HDB plus pte properties are not living in their subsidised public housing.

bidadari 4rm units available = 680
No. of queue numbers given out = 680 x 300% = 2040
No. Of applicants = 2092

Does it mean that only 52 people will not get a queue number?

First time applicant here. Hope to get it 😁

Yes, there will be as announced under the ROH recently. Won't hold my breath though. The first ones might become available late next year or the year after, and then you have to wait a few more years for them to be ready.
