For those who don't live in that area, they will never know the pain the though everything is good. :o

I wonder what would Dakota crescent turns into. What is gov plan for that plot.

For those who intend to sell after MOP, personally I feel that value would be much better for Dakota, as there are limited units available.
While for bidadari, can foreseen the number of flippers and buyers would get to choose/nego instead.

When bidadari TOP, more flats TOP in seng kang and punggol also.
NEL would be a horror.

Yes, HDB is not stupid when they price those BTOs :s13:.

Same goes for Clementi. A classmate of mine stays there and it's an absolute horror trying to get up the trains because most will get off in Buona Vista from Jurong.

For me, I rather get Sengkang/Punggol than Bidadari because Bidadari is just in between. If not, I'll just go for the top end in Kallang, Farrer Park, Red Hill, Tiong Bahru, etc (basically city fringe).

Choosing a flat goes beyond just looking at prices and fengshui :s13:.

actually there are still a few more plots of land at dakota. the guillemard camp site and the old broadrick site. the URA plan is to build residential units on it though. so actually those who want to stay in dakota still have chance.. 😂

Yup, many of my colleagues are complaining of getting late to work because of the jam packed trains. There are already plenty of people taking train to Punggol from Hougang and back down in order to get a seat.

Driving like what you mentioned is also a problem along those roads. Alternatively is to go by KPE -> MCE but then it's not exactly fast either.

If you ask me, Bidadari is overpriced but Dakota is not.

Dakota so expensive no money to own car liao hahaha.

Question on ballot numbers

Hi there! I have a question on the ballot numbers.

How will the 1st timers and 2nd timers be allotted the queue numbers? For example, for the 300 3-rm Dakota units, do first timers get a number out of 285 (95%) units? So the first timers selected for the queue would be 285 X 3 = 855? And similarly, 15 (5%) X 3 = 45 2nd timers would be selected for the queue? If so, then would all 900 of them be placed in the same queue?

Oh and another question on 3-rm vs 4-rm flats. I've applied for the Dakota 4-rm, but am worried about the oversubscription. I'm reluctantly considering cancelling and applying for 3-rm. What are your views on 3-rm vs 4-rm? Is 3-rm really too small for starting a family? Or should I just apply and see how? I would really love to stay at Dakota.

Thank you all!

Precisely..

I have a hard time getting into the train at Potong Pasir daily.
Unless I wake up early and that would bring the next question of why not stay further since also need to wake up early.

Drive is not that good either. Jam at main road and even if go by joo seng, also quite a jam.

Then north east area like bishan , ang mo kio , toa payoh mrt so cramp too

Anyway a 3-room with 2 kids is squeezy but tolerable. It depends on how many kids you have and if you want to adopt a Japanese-style minimalist life. For consumerist Singaporean who have so much stuff (1 new gadget/month) only 4-room will give you enough space.

My sis has 2 toddlers and she applied 3-room as she doesn't want to wait for a 4-room flat after few unsuccessful attempts. That time when she applied she has no children yet. So now after having 2 kids, the house gets smaller n smaller. She can't display all the toys out so her kids have to play and keep in storeroom or storage places. Not much to run around so she often has to bring the kids out. Luckily she has 2 gals so they can sleep in the same room. So think twice before applying.

It depends on parenting method and personal preference.

For me, I won't have a corner for kids toy and stuff. They should keep it after they have play it. I won't let my kids run around as well.
But most parents nowadays go for kids' corner and stuff.

I train from Potong Pasir every morning during peak hour.
Tell me about it.
I can snap a pic or video.

Sometimes can squeeze in, sometimes have to wait for 1-3 trains.

For now can squeeze in as the last few pax, do consider when bidadari is up, there will be lots of ppl, also, more residents from punggol and seng kang as well. The situation will only be worsen and not better.
Road traffic as well.

Transport issue also have to depend on where one works. Or get a bto closer to one's work place, but no guarantee you will work in same place forever also. :s13:

Depends. I am in CBD, and due to my job, even if I change, I would still be in CBD.

But of coz for those not working in CBD, no worries about peak hours getting hard to go town. Pros and cons of job.

Dakota is yellow line (circle).
If one is taking public transport (mrt) to cbd, Dakota normally still can get in easily.
Woodleigh is difficult even for now, and Bartley not easy too.
Looking at the site plan, it should be around 10 mins walk at least to the mrt stations for bidadari.

School wise, if you are talking about pri sch, MS junior, cedar and st Andrew around bidadari are quite gd.

Dakota is kinda near to duman high (if your kids could go to that sec sch). It is also a short distance from ECP and MCE.

Looking at the site plan for the plot beside the current bidadari, there are some rental units there, in case some ppl might wana take note.

thanks for the correction!

and oh yes. rental units. tot of that but forget abt it as i was typing the list
