You can try creating a new user account and trying downloading it from the new user account's App Store. (at least that's what worked for a friend)

So far mine working great. Do restart your Idevice, sign off & on your apple ID and let your bluetooth on. At least it how during my beta 1 Yosemite troubleshooting.
Make sure you they connected the same bandwidth as well. 5ghz or 2.4ghz
Once you had success, be prepare that all your idevice ring together insane!!!
Guys I solved the download problem by installing cloak app(Trial version)
changing the DNS and creating a new account doesn't work for me. Where do u download this cloak app?
quite disappointed that handover only works for 2012 and newer macs.

Using a late 2013 15 rMBP.
After updating to yosemite I notice that sometimes after rebooting, or if i plug an external monitor, my macbook's display reverts back to the "best for display" scaling.
Also this is not a yosemite specific problem but since mavericks i notice that my login items occasionally disappear when booting up my laptop.
Have you got the filevault enable. Disable it.
Which mac are you using?
