I went to the Endodontic Office , the Dentist is really sincere, not pushy, patient as well to explain to me.
The so called investigation is basically the first step of RC, from there the n he can tell to remove or continue RC.
But based on X-ray, he thinks the crack on my tooth should not be that bad. He deduced it is more of my cavity of tooth that is casing me pain. so should be able to RC than implant. however he did say cracked tooth has lower % of longer life span (about 80%) as compared to non-cracked tooth which is 90-95%

His quote is 1500, procedure for RC s 2x, each 45 min. I still deciding cos his quote is kinda high..... while I think I may have to go for Endodntist for RC, I do not want to go back to my dentist again for crowning. my dentist B9.

Can I do my RC with endodontist but go do crowning at another dentist ( not go back to the referred one?)

I see here recommend Dr. Wong from Trust Dental. feel like going there. or do I have to go to Dr. Wong first and get referred again?

I personally did two endo with the endodontic office, I think they are reliable. Please do RC if your tooth can be saved. Try not to go for implant if possible, for implants may lead to higher risk of gum problems due to infection, peri-implantitis after a long period. Also, I consider tooth implant to be an invasive treatment, it can lead to pains and suffering.

Yes, you can definitely do RC with Endodontic Office but do crowning with another dentist , don't have to go back to referred one.

Crowning materials is important, I will recommend going for dentist that will care for patient by not using cheaper crowning materials. If you need my dentist info, I can also recommend my dentist to you as she did my crowning for me.

Hi,
I need some information on crowning in Singapore. I checked with prices overseas and less than half of the price. I need it to be cheap as I need to do 28 crowns.

Dont bother to check sg lol, cannot fight with overseas. if you can spare 1-2 weeks overseas, you can do it very cheaply in east europe or even indonesia/malaysia/thailand. one influencer got a full mouth for $3000 pounds including 4 star hotel, meals and transport in east europe. but buyer beware la. if you need to do so much work for your teeth, you prob need rehab treatment to stablise whatever is happening in your mouth now. and why would you need to crown your back teeth as well

wow didnt know got such informative thread lurk in hardwarezone. I'm experiencing dull pain in tooth when biting but quickly subsided after release the biting pressure but otherwise no pain at all. is that cracked tooth?

i mention before to my dentist but she cannot confirm if my tooth is cracked because if hairline crack hard to detect i think. did xray as well and confirm my tooth not decay or cavity.

so seeing the options here seems like do crowning can keep tooth alive and RC will kill the tooth which is bad? is my interpretation correct?
I hv similar issue as you. X-ray shows no infection, dentist can’t explain the pain, just suggest RCT to get rid of the pain. I asked for filling instead. Worked for 2 weeks then came very bad toothache and the filling dropped. So I went to do RCT today with a different dentist. Hope it helps. But one thing I thot weird was today’s dentist din do x ray. I thot it is standard practise to do x ray before RCT?

I don't think X-ray can show infection. You need CT scan for that. Your dentist doesnt have the tool to do a proper check I think, that is why he couldn't explain.

RCT should be able do the job of removing pain since the nerve is removed in the process. If your RCT is done via a endo specialist, he or she should have a microscope to see if there are fine crack in the tooth.. So technically, no X ray is needed.

As for infection, your endo specialist would have used chemical to remove all the infected areas in the tooth. If laser is used for irrigation,, its even better because deeper tissues will be treated.

I went to a neighbourhood dentist for the RCT. Frankly I dunno what went on as I had my eyes closed LOL but grateful for your sharing. I think the dentist did use laser for irrigation as there were intermittent flashes of light :p pray all goes well.

I have done two implant. One of the implant is a replacement for the root canal. The root canal has been there for 7 years and then it start to cause infection nearby.
