Guys, can I check what happens to your phone when 5G is weak in a particular area? Does the network shut down with a 🚫 signage on your phone and then turn on again to 5G?

I've a dual SIM Samsung S23 Ultra. Main SIM for DATA is under Singtel and the other one is 4G with StarHub.

About once or twice a day while on 5G, the phone will lose connection. Both SIM cards will show 🚫🚫 and turn on again within seconds. Network which is on Singtel will show 5G almost immediately.

I spoke to Singtel and they told me it's common as the 5G network might not be stable in my area and the phone is looking for a stronger network.

I thought that if 5G connection weak, the phone will just use 4G seamlessly without disconnecting from the network.

Can anyone on Singtel 5G share your experience, pls. This issue has been bugging me for the last 2 weeks.
just stick to 4G, 5G is not mainstream yet.

Surprisingly after software updates, this issue has been resolved. Maybe because the "use 5G standalone network" can be turned off in the new update. So didn't encounter any issue. Singtel 5G seems fine for me.

Anyone updated the SIM card from the old ass 4G SIM card (but still on 5g plan) to 5g SIM card and feel like 5g speed become slower when surfing internet?
It’s like the page used to be snappy fast refresh when on 4G SIM card but on 5g connection, but after changing to 5g SIM card, each website will take 2-3 seconds to load.
Kinda regret changing the SIM card man…

Can I confirm that there is no 5G on Circle Line and Downtown Line? Just want to confirm it is not my phone's fault (crap modem).

What if you disable SA and use NSA?

I believe that 4G SIM Card + 5G Access --> 5G NSA.

It seems to me Singtel 5G SA coverage is still not good but 5G NSA is good (with the cost that 4G coverage becomes worse).

For those who want Singtel 5G because of the deterioration of Singtel 4G Coverage (eg: East-West MRT lines), there are three choices now for Singtel 5G SIM Only Plus plans.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/postpaid-plans/simonly

1) SIM Only Plus 30 + paid 5G Access Add-on --> 60 GB data, first three months 100GB 5G data, after that need to pay for 5G Access Add-on at promotional price (eg: S$1 per month for 6 months) or usual price of S$5.04 per month.

Existing Singtel mobile users -- S$20.19 recontract offer + S$5.04x9/12 = S$23.97 per month for 12 months contract (without promotion)
Recontract offer link: https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/eform/simonlycampaign

Existing Singtel mobile users -- S$20.19 recontract offer + (S$1 x 6 + S$5.04 x 3)/12 = S$21.95 per month for 12 months contract.
With the following promotion, you can get 6 months of 5G Access add-on at S$1 per month, the terms and conditions states $5.04/mth after the 6 months offer.

For new users, it is better to sign up the SIM Only Plus 45 to have a better deal for 5G, since the baseline cost is already at S$30.28.

2) SIM Only Plus 45 --> 120GB 5G data, S$36.34 per month

3) SIM Only Plus 55 --> 180GB 5G data, S$44.41 per month

is changing sim card to the 5g sim card free or need pay?

e.g. already recontract plan with 5g service included but didn't change sim card during recontract.

For Singtel it should be free.
New and re-contracting customers who sign up/recontract on eligible plans1 will receive Singtel's new 5G SIM card FREE (U.P. S$37.80) for a limited time. Existing customers who are on eligible plans can also upgrade their 4G SIM to a brand new 5G SIM at any Singtel shops or self-serve kiosks.

1. Selected combo, XO, XO Plus, SIM Only, Sim Only Plus & MobileShare plans
