I am on 4g SIM card with my iPad 12.9 5th gen. I can’t see this option. made an appt to swap my SIM card today. Maybe I should put it off by a year? Is there any adv in using a 5g sim now?
I checked SingTel 5g faq and it says supported devices is iPad 12.9 6th gen? But I can see the 5g icon on my iPad.

ok just realise my iPad only support nsa not sa….

5G NSA.

Same for the test result next to SingTel Shop Jurong Point.

I know the speed is NSA since I am still using 4G SIM Card. I checked in the shop last time and then checked in the kiosk again recently -- I am not qualified for the free 5G SIM Card.

Just to make sure, I turned off SA in phone settings and then tested again. The result is similar to yesterday's result.

Yes I see this option from the SIngtel Shop kiosk. But I am not so sure if it is chargable or not.

Anyway, I am happy with NSA now.

After the three month free 5G Access, I may want to continue with the 6 months S$1 5G Access add-on promotion (if it is still available). I will check then if I am eligible for 5G SIM Card replacement at that time.

Nothing directed at you. Just saying in general.

The ping is still bad. Still not able to go into single digits. Low ping is an advantage for 5G over 4G for consumers.

You are absolutely right. The ping is not good. And I checked later and 4G is even worse.

I checked with a friend in this line and he suspects that my phone is not so good: Xiaomi Poco X4 GT (MediaTek Dimensity 8100). Take note I am using 5G NSA.

Interesting the upload ping value was good when testing next to Singtel Shop in Jurong Point, the download ping is not good though. When testing at home, download ping is similar but upload ping is much worse.

" We are aware some 5G customers may be experiencing intermittent access to their mobile data services. Our engineers are urgently working to resolve this and we will provide updates as soon as they are available. In the meantime, affected customers can switch to 4G to continue to access their mobile data. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and seek your patience on this. "

Just an update: I went to a SingTel Shop Kiosk and got free 5G SIM Card replacement in Dec 2023 (first SIM card replacement is free). My old SIM Card was from 2013 when I signed up for SingTel Combo 2 plan.

But then SingTel 5G SA is actually slower than 5G NSA when I tested with OOkla SpeedTest at home, probably due to less coverage of Singtel 5G SA compared to 5G NSA.

Guys, can I check what happens to your phone when 5G is weak in a particular area? Does the network shut down with a 🚫 signage on your phone and then turn on again to 5G?

I've a dual SIM Samsung S23 Ultra. Main SIM for DATA is under Singtel and the other one is 4G with StarHub.

About once or twice a day while on 5G, the phone will lose connection. Both SIM cards will show 🚫🚫 and turn on again within seconds. Network which is on Singtel will show 5G almost immediately.

I spoke to Singtel and they told me it's common as the 5G network might not be stable in my area and the phone is looking for a stronger network.

I thought that if 5G connection weak, the phone will just use 4G seamlessly without disconnecting from the network.

Can anyone on Singtel 5G share your experience, pls. This issue has been bugging me for the last 2 weeks.
Having similar experience now. Im using S23 ultra dual sim (Sim 1 singtel 5g), (sim 2 Xero1 4g). Many a times when singtel 5g is weak, my calls to sim 1 gets forwarded to sim2. I put Sim 1 in 4G, then the calls to sim 1 comes to sim 1 as intended.
