I agree 100%. This is what singtel customer service told me too....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

if I had known earlier I wouldn't have paid for 5g....

with singtel 5g i even had whats app problem....when i sent sent message, a clock icon appears and sometimes takes as long as 5 minutes for the message to be sent out.......but when i switched to 4g, no such problem...

Try 5G NSA to see if that helps. In certain areas it may be better than 4G.

Singtel 5G SA coverage is still not good.

There are quite some reports of degraded Singtel 4G coverage in this forum, I myself have some experiences with this issue as well in certain areas. But then it is still okay to me.

For those Singtel 4G SIM Only Plus 30 users, you can try out the following offer after your three month free 5G access expires. You can get free 5G SIM Card replacement (one time only) from Singtel shop kiosks.

Note: I chose not to go with the offer but continue using 4G as I do not see much differences myself.

Offer Link:
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/eform/5GNOW-deal

Sign up for 5G Access at only $2.54/mth!
12-mths contract, $5.09/mth thereafter.
Activation fee (worth $10.90) will be waived.

I did experience a drop in 4G experience on circle mrt line recently. Like there is a lag before the page loads.

Move out of Singtel or to cheaper plans i.e. GOMO, CMLink MVNOs, if you want to stay on Singtel's infra.

For those who want Singtel 5G because of the deterioration of Singtel 4G Coverage (eg: East-West MRT lines), there are three choices now for Singtel 5G SIM Only Plus plans.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/postpaid-plans/simonly

1) SIM Only Plus 30 + paid 5G Access Add-on --> 60 GB data, first three months 100GB 5G data, after that need to pay for 5G Access Add-on at promotional price (eg: S$1 per month for 6 months) or usual price of S$5.04 per month.

Existing Singtel mobile users -- S$20.19 recontract offer + S$5.04x9/12 = S$23.97 per month for 12 months contract (without promotion)
Recontract offer link: https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/eform/simonlycampaign

Existing Singtel mobile users -- S$20.19 recontract offer + (S$1 x 6 + S$5.04 x 3)/12 = S$21.95 per month for 12 months contract.
With the following promotion, you can get 6 months of 5G Access add-on at S$1 per month, the terms and conditions states $5.04/mth after the 6 months offer.

For new users, it is better to sign up the SIM Only Plus 45 to have a better deal for 5G, since the baseline cost is already at S$30.28.

2) SIM Only Plus 45 --> 120GB 5G data, S$36.34 per month

3) SIM Only Plus 55 --> 180GB 5G data, S$44.41 per month
Hi I don’t understand why SO+ 45 is better? 4G SO is $30.56 then add on 5G is about $2 so total around $32.56 still cheaper than $36.68?

For existing Singtel mobile customers, SIM Only Plus 30 recontract offer pricing is at around S$20 over the years. Last year it was S$20.19 per month due to GST increase. This year it will be S$20.37 due to GST increase. Take note it also includes 12 months free caller ID.

It has first 3 month 100G 5G data offer and then 60GB 4G data after that, so after the 3 months, some people may want to pay for the 5G Access add-on.

The S$20 recontract offer is NOT for new sign-up.

As for new users, you can choose whichever plan depending on your needs.

Take note for new sign-up, the base 4G SIM Only plan does not include free Caller ID, S$30.56 + S$5 + S$2 =S$37.56. That is why I say SIM Only Plus 45 at S$36.68 is better than the SIM Only Plus 30 @S$30.56.

Yes that is the case.

Even if they do not send you the SMS/Email offer, or they send you lousy offer, you can still click the link provided in this forum and get the promotion, based on my own experiences (since 2019, now got two lines) and many reports here.

Take note the recontract offer is not applicable to new sign-up.

And based on some reports, this recontract offer is not applicable to SingTel SIM Only CIS customers. To me the Singtel CIS SIM Only plan is always worse than the normal SIM Only Plan, but I guess different company may have different CIS offer.

I didn’t know Sim only also has CIS plan! How to access it to view the offer to compare? Through the SingTel CIS page?

I do not think that helps (but you can try first). Rather you may check with your company.
I just checked and looks like CIS same price as public lol. Worse is no $100 phone voucher.

any idea where to use the $100 voucher? Is it only things at SingTel shop?

Hello. I am thinking of jumping from StarHub. Had been with StarHub for like 10+ years and I am thinking of giving Singtel a try. I always have been kinda disappointed with StarHub's connectivity in MRT tunnels. How does it fare with Singtel? Also sometimes on StarHub, my connection will jump to 5G SA but there is no internet connection at all until my phone drop the connection entirely after ~5 mins then reconnect again or I just turn on and off the airplane mode. Is this common with Singtel?

I have a much better experience with ST compared to the times I was with SH.

I was on ST for 10+ years before I jumped to SH. However, it was only a 10 months stay with SH coz I experienced the same connectivity issues as you. Jumped back to ST and it's a seamless connectivity once again.

Yes...especially near to serangoon station ..cannot load.
Haha same problem here. And when i was using M1, in Nex got no data 🙄

Singtel 5G really that bad ah? Was thinking of either upgrading from starhub 4G sim only to 5G sim only or changing to Singtel 5G sim only.

I tot Singtel 5G coverage was better than m1 & starhub according to various tests?

And they claim full underground coverage for NSL, EWL & NEL. I take NEL & DTL most often.

https://www.singtel.com/about-us/media-centre/news-releases/singtel-showcases-5g-capabilities-with-first-ever-livestream-of-#:~:text=Singtel is also the first,NEL) that runs entirely underground.

.

I think he was talking about 4G performance drop. I have the same experiences as well (mainly in the Jurong areas).

SingTel 4G plus 5G NSA combination seems to be pretty okay. SingTel 5G SA coverage is still not good as per the reports.

Yeah mine is Starhub 4G. Approaching serangoon station on NEL always no data.

Strange that singtel 5G SA coverage not as good as NSA since SA supposed to “better” as the “real” 5G.
