take note that this is a service-provider model/unit. it's nowhere to be sold in retail (eg. Challenger store)

buying it from Starhub: Paying the Original price
buying it from Carousell: Cheaper than paying the Original price from Starhub

Locked to Starhub for firmware updates. Not recommended to be used with other ISPs. Same for HB810 (locked to Singtel for firmware updates).

TP-Link Archer BE805 is not locked to MR and it can be used with other ISPs.

Anyone managed to get EB810v into AP mode? When I select it, it pops up an error box - "Error code: 1 Internal Error."

Fixed it myself somehow.. I think "restore" option (not factory restore - just what it got delivered as) may have done it as I could select AP Mode on the initial setup wizard.

Interestingly the EB810v SFP+ port did actually work, but would only negotiate at 1g with Ubiquiti DAC cable (UDM-Pro SFP+ DAC -> EB810v SFP+ DAC) - the EB810v port was actually working as a WAN port. Perhaps with a different module it could negotiate properly as there is no setting in the TP Link UI for it :(

I changed to using the SFP+ RJ45 module on the UDM-Pro and it was fine at 10g to the EB810v WAN RJ45. So now have it in AP Mode with an UDM-Pro in the middle, so it looks like this:
Code:
ONT 10GBASE-T -> UDM-Pro SFP+ 10GBASE-T WAN
SFP+ 10GBASE-T LAN -> EB810v 10GBASE-T WAN in AP Mode (using its 10GBASE-T LAN port for local server)

How do I set up WIFI mesh on EB810v? Possible to pair EB810v with other TP-Link routers?

I’ve tried pairing EB810v with AX53 but both of them can’t detect each other using WPS.

If set up WIFI mesh with EV810v, is it through the same way?

Hi guys, I just got my EB810v router, and subscribed to UltraSpeed 10Gbps from Starhub. I connected the router direct to Switch Hub 10/100/1000Mbps, before received by Macbook's hub. My download speed up 900-1000Mbps only.

How to achieve download speed close to 10Gbps? Sorry newbie here.

You need to either connect your Macbook directly to the EB810v 10Gbps LAN port, or connect the EB810v 10Gbps LAN port to a 10Gbps switch which connects to your Macbook's 10Gbps port.

Thanks, I realized most switch hub is 10/100/1000Mbps. Anyone actually using 10,000Mbps switch?

I had this issue last night, and eventually I just choose to reset it. Is quite straight forward, just hold the reset button until the router restart, then you set your new device password and done!

Pure 10G switch may be a bit more expensive. There are quite some cheaper 4/8 ports 2.5G switches with two SFP+ ports or one 10Gbe uplink interface. So they can be an option as well.

You may want to check out the 2.5G thread if you are interested in that option.

TP-Link EB810v has three 2.5G LAN ports. You can connect the 2.5G LAN port to pure 2.5G switch as well if you need more LAN ports.

1) Example connection for those who have two LAN ports on the living rooms, using low cost pure 2.5G switch

Starhub XGS-PON ONT in DB box -- patch panel -- living room LAN port 1 -- EB810v 10G WAN port

EB810v 10G LAN port -- 10G capable wired device in the living room (PC or NAS), optional

EB810v 2.5G LAN port -- 2.5G capable wired device in the living room

EB810v 2.5G LAN port -- living room LAN port 2 -- patch panel -- pure 2.5G switch in the DB box -- patch panel --Bedroom LAN ports x3 (each up to 2.5Gbps, total 2.5Gbps)

2) Example connection for those who have two LAN ports in the living rooms, using 2.5G switch with 10G uplink

Starhub XGS-PON ONT in DB box -- patch panel -- living room LAN port 1 -- EB810v 10G WAN port

EB810v 2.5G LAN port -- 2.5G capable wired device in the living room

EB810v 10G LAN port -- living room LAN port 2 -- patch panel -- 10G uplink of the 2.5G switch with 10G uplink in the DB box

2.5G ports of the switch with 10G uplink -- patch panel -- Bedroom LAN ports x 3 ( each up to 2.5Gbps, total up to 7.5Gbps)

do you mind share which 10,000Mbps switch hub that you are using?
The cheapest 10G switch that I use is the 5 port unmanaged Trendnet TEG-S750 that I bought on Amazon SG for S$340. Plug and play and fanless. Works well and silent but runs hot as it is fanless.

1) You may go to the 10G/Homelab discussion and there are more options about pure 10G switches.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...projects-include-10g-network-upgrade.6341518/

Example: post #140 of the thread.

From the following discussion, we can see that there are good switches to buy.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...ubiquiti-vs-10gtek-simple-test.7036627/page-4

Some of the models mentioned.
1) MikroTik CRS310-8G+2S-IN
It has 8 x 2.5G Ethernet ports and 2 SFP+ ports, and runs RouterOS v7.

2) MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+IN

3) Ubiquiti USW-Aggregation

4) TP-Link SX3008F, Omada compatible

5) TP-Link ST-5008F V2

2) More options for cheaper 2.5G swtches with or without 10G uplink

Mine was Admin@7890 just in case we had same installer lol... but they seem to follow similar patterns.
