Hi Guys,

So EB810v can’t pair with Deco BE25 ?
Plan is EB810v in living room and Deco backhaul in study room or master bedroom.

cause I can’t find HB710 or 410 for sales anywhere.

It is for HDB 5 room.

Thanks!

Cannot pair with Deco BE25.

You can only get HB710 (at S$192) and HB410 (S$120) from Starhub.

Finally bit the bullet to take up starhub's 10gbps plan with the tv.
Unfortunately, signed up a day prior to IT fair (my stupid mistake for forgetting IT fair dates)

Singtel does not offer any value for customer who wanna recontract - pushed for me to take up separate broadband and tv plans - cant have any new sign up offers

Will be using 710 as my main router (hidden in DB) then 10GBPS out to EB810 hehe...

Cant wait for installation date

Does anyone know if the MLO network on the EB810v/HB710 is operational by now? I understand there has been a lot of issues regarding that, and I just want to double check as my iPhone 16 Pro Max is unable to even see the MLO network, let alone connect to it. Same with my Samsung S9 Tab, though it seems it only has Wifi 6E officially, so I don't blame it completely.

Additionally, is it advisable to set all three bands on the EB810v/HB710 (2.4, 5 and 6 Ghz) with the same SSID? I noticed that when I did so, my connected devices had slightly higher speeds as opposed to having different SSIDs and connecting only to the 6 Ghz network.

It seems to me that you have not many WiFi 7 clients now. iPhone 16 Pro Max is an acceptable WiFi 6/6E client but lousy WiFi 7 client (no 320MHz channel bandwidth support and no 4096 QAM support). The best reported WiFi speed seems to be around 1.6Gbps, MLO is not that useful for it.

Personally I use 4 SSIDs with my Archer BE805 and HB710 (used as individual router, not a mesh): 2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz and MLO. MLO SSID is working fine for my WiFI 7 devices. Still I usually get higher speed on the 6GHz band at close range than MLO. But MLO SSID has some advantages at far range. BTW, when I use the same SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, some devices like to connect to 2.4GHz band. So I have to seperate them.

HB710 MLO seems to be stable but I did not carry many testings with HB710. Archer BE805 MLO seems to be less stable.

We have four WiFi 7 devices at home now. Two Acer Swift Go 14 laptops (2024 model with Intel Core Ultra 5 125H CPU and Intel BE200NGW based Killer BE1750 WiFi 7 adapter, and two USB WiFi 7 adapters (no 320MHz channel bandwidth support on 6GHz band) for my Acer Swift 3 laptop (early 2021 model with built-in Intel AX201 WiFi 6 adapter) and a Ryzen 5 5600G CPU based desktop.

You can always try your method of using the same SSIDs for 2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz even though I will not recommend to do that. You can also enable MLO SSID to see how it goes.

Wasted, a 2.5G/10G switch costs only about S$100 (dual 10G RJ45 ports and quad 2.5G ports). Power of EB810v is also much higher.

One possibility for the switch -- much smaller and more power efficient.

Hasivo S600W-4GT-2XGT-SE is probably the cheapest you can find. You should look at the price at Taobao 海思视讯 shop and it is only at RMB 699 listed price --> now about RMB 499 in Feb 2025.

Hasivo S600W-4GT-2SX-SE, RMB 219 listed, quad 2.5G ports, two 10G SFP+ ports
Hasivo S600W-4GT-1SX-1XGT-SE, RMB 399 listed, quad 2.5G ports, one 10G RJ45 port and one 10G SFP+ port

Anyway, if you want to go ahead of reusing EB810v, you can change it to AP mode and then disable all wireless function.

I just realised Starhub's nokia xs-240x-a-modem has 3 extra ethernet port (but at 1g speed).

If i plug one of them to the lan inside my room and then to the Asus BT10 (satalite node) for wired backhaul, would it work?

1) No it will not work. Nokia XS-240X-A is configured by Starhub as an ONT, only the 10G LAN port is working, the three 1G LAN ports are not functional.

2) FYI, for Singtel, Nokia XS-240X-A is configured as an ONR. In that case, the 10G LAN port and three 1G LAN ports are all functional.

3) ONT vs ONR.
Power users tend to like ONT better as they can use their own router to the full of its ability. ONR may have limited feature compared to normal router. Apparently Starhub finally thinks that ONR is not a good idea and ditched Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR (all-in-one with AX6000 wireless) for all the new 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plans.

But you can see ONR has some benefits for average users who want to save money (eg: no need to put a wireless router in the DB Box).

More about ONT vs ONR here in the second sticky thread.

4) BTW, in general, do not use "modem" word for Fibre, ONT and ONR are the right words to use, even though you can call ONT kind of "Fibre Modem" and ONR kind of "Fibre Modem Router".

Understand. Got it! Thanks for explaining!

So for network switch, if i go with Hasivo S600W-4GT-2XGT-SE, i'll have 1 x 10g lan + 4 x 2.5g lan as output? Hasivo is using china plug instead of our SG 3 pin plug right?

Else, i can compromise and get the TP-LINK TL-SG105-M2 5-port 2.5Gbps which has 5 x 2.5g ports for $99.

TP-LINK TL-SX105 with 5 x 10g port is quite pricey at $399. lol

Are both Hasivo and TP Link switches plug and play? Meaning i don't have to download any app to adjust the settings etc?

Thanks!

1) Yes, China plug. You can just use a simple adapter. And indeed you can also use TL-SG105-M2.

IMHO TL-SX105 is totally not worth the money as a 10G unmanaged switch.

2) Yes, plug and play. TL-SG1-5-M2 is an unmanaged switch so nothing to configure anyway. Hasivo S600W-4GT-2XGT-SE is a managed switch but by default it will run as an unmanaged switch out of box.

3) More about 2.5G capable switches here.

4) More about 2.5G/10G mixed or pure 10G switches here.

Hi, I'm have been getting 5G drop with this unit since installed 1 week ago. I have hard reset router last night and it is still happening. I only discovered the drop one day watching on Chromecast and wifi disconnected message pop out. I monitored with my phone and saw 5G was missing and only appeared back after a while. Think it dropped after every 45 to 1hr. One bro earlier had the same issue with his 2.4G n after exchanged, problem swap to 5G instead. Any solutions to it? Most likely I will need to put my previous Asus GT-Ax6000 as an AP if I want to maintain 5G? Thanks.

Hi, how to see or check IP of my rmb 499 Hasivo switch? Is there any firmware upgrade required for the switch? Thanks.

The IP address and password should be written on the label of the switch.
Yes there is but it is the same IP as the router. Oh, cannot login to its IP as a switch n need direct connect is it? Thanks.

Yes, you have to do that.
For example, say you rouer IP address is 192.168.0.1 and the switch Web UI IP address is also 192.168.0.1.

1) Disconnect the switch from the router.
2) Set your computer IP address as 192.168.0.3.
3) Connect your computer to the switch and log in using the Web UI at 192.168.0.1. Change the settings as per your requirements,
4) Change the switch IP address to 192.168.0.2.
5) After that, you can connect the switch back to your router and log in to the switch UI to 192.168.0.2.

But the whole steps are not necessary if you only use it as a unmanaged switch.

Step 4 and 5 are not necessary if you only need to set it up once.

Yes, runs pretty warm, air cooling like not efficient.
Hi Hi Froztheart,

Did you install any cooling measure in the DB Cabinet?

Did the heat impact the performance? Like intermittent signal drop or poor speed?

Thanks in advance!

No noticeable performance issue, natural ventilation.
Mine not inside DB cabinet, but warm to touch.
As compared to my ASUS-BE25K which has a fan underneath which is much cooler.
