TP-Link Archer BE805 (BE19000) is better (about S$400 BNIB from Carousell).

Last time TP-Link Archer AXE300 (AXE16000) was also dumped in Carousell at around S$380 to S$450 BNIB when it was the bundled router for SH/MR 10Gbps plan.

I did a research for be805 too. There is only 2x 10G ports.(1 WAN & 1 LAN)

I choose AXE300 in the end bcoz it has 2x 10G ports,1x 2.5G port, 1x SFP(might come in handy in the future) which serve my purpose as I no nid to get additional 10G switch to connect my 3 other pc.
Will be using 2.5G switch to connect them. (cheaper solution too as for now).

Actually at 1st I thinking to setup the network all using 2.5G router. But since AXE16000 comes with 10G port and it is compatible with my x540-t2, tats y i give it a go.

I dun nid strong wifi as i only use it to connect my ipcam. (only turn on 2.4GHz). I mostly connect my hp to my AP inside my room.

I do hope maybe in the next coming month, there will be more release for 10G home routers for us to choose from with all 10G ports with more affordable price.

noob questions, Is the 10Gbps aggregated or same as Simba where it is not aggregated?

VQ XGS-PON based 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps are true 10Gbps plan. They will come with bridged ONR (basically the same as ONT) where you can connect a 10G capable router (or get from VQ).

In fact, you can say all 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plans now in the market are true 10Gbps plan. Only 2Gbps/2.5Gbps got aggregated plan (from WC and Singtel).

ONT replacement done today. Fast and easy since I removed old ont for him and prepared the wires. Up and down speed 2.3gbps on my desktop since my network setup in 2.5gbps only... wifi 6e on S22U max out at 1.3gbps up/down. Less than 15 mins settle.

I called support twice. The woman didn't understand my issue, and the man said that in Router Mode, only 4 GE ports are usable, the 10Gbps port won't work. To achieve 3/5/10 Gbps speeds, it must be in Bridge Mode.

Can someone confirm this? I doubt his answer too...

If you do not want to buy those power hungry 10G NICs (some of them really cheap from Taobao), you can also look at the following 5G NIC from IOcrest.
http://www.iocrest.com/index.php?id=2413

Only RMB 89 plus shipment and GST from Taobao official IOCrest store.

Too bad VQ using cgnat, in this case better for me to say on M1 despite the more expensive monthly sub.

Basically VQ does not support the router configuration based on what you say.

I tend to think you are on your own as most of the VQ 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps users are power users and power users usually do not like ONR...

Well, this is only temporary solution. Maybe after 3-4yrs time, new mainboard comes out with onboard 10G LAN port. Might upgrade my system too. (And all my NIC put inside my storeroom.....:ROFLMAO: )

Haha, I do not even have a propet desktop PC for many years already, only mini PC, Mac Mini and Windows laptops. I bought two USB 4 to 10G NIC just for SpeedTest, LOL.

IOcrest USB 4 to 10G NIC is the cheapest I found at RMB499 but now out of stock.

Previously I bought a few Ugreen USB to 1G and 2.5G NICs for Speedtest as well since my Windows laptops do not have Ethernet ports.

I still an old fashioned PC geek. Standard ATX casing. Probably used to it for all these years. And easier to hands on too if any problems arise.(I got big hands) So quite hard for me if going for smaller ITX casing.

I noticed many good advertisements for a brand called Ruijie (reyee) on TikTok, but I've never used their products before. I'm concerned about the stability, although the performance looks impressive. I'm just not sure if the positive reviews are due to paid marketing...

How does the Xiaomi AC9000 compare to the two models you mentioned? Which one is better? My current Asus router has Merlin firmware, but I'm looking for features like parental controls with scheduling, which Asus seems to lack. I'd also like URL filtering similar to Palo Alto's firewall, so I can block my kids from watching YouTube until they've finished their homework and only allow them to watch between 9-10 PM.
I use Google family link for android phone, and Microsoft family safety for windows. The app usage tracking and website approvals work great to me.

i was looking at 2.5G NIC too , until i stumble upon that my mobo (asus B550m tuf SI) may have this function..

EXCLUSIVE 2.5 GIGABIT ETHERNET

2.5G on-board Ethernet kicks your LAN connection up a notch with an up to 2.5X bandwidth improvement. Using your existing LAN cable, you can take advantage this networking upgrade to experience smoother, lag-free gaming, immediately stream high-resolution videos and enjoy faster file transfers.

so maybe ill take up the 3 gbps VQ plan and see whats the speed !
