I recently installed in my Master toilet for rainshower. Heats up fairly quickly and it retains heat very well. It too new to comment on durability but I am keeping my fingers crossed. The app is useful to adjust the temperature, up to single degrees - not sure how accurate but its pretty neat.

Anyone used ANDRIS SLIM2 LUX before? WiFi version

Any feedback?

Which model are you looking at? My 50L cost $500+ I think

I enquired with AO Smith before, a 40L basic heater cost about $400 with $150 installation fees. Is AO Smith heater very lasting and durable? I think its worth it if can last at least 10yrs?:)

I only used for 2years + going 3 years. So far as good as new. If you're looking at the normal water tank I think should be similar as other normal brands. I would recommend the digital series with smart panel, that's the unique thing about AOS.. spending abit more but have the ability to see and control the hot water..

I also use normal AOS 40 Litres and spend around the same price using their installation. $550. Before that I was using ariston storage heater 30 litres which lasted 11 years. I replaced the old heater due to slight water leak from body.

Heater installed in Oct 2019. So far so good. I think aos heater main selling point is the digital control. The lady at their shop also recommended me to get it but I feel the normal heater is good enough for me.

The normal heater does have a turning knob for temp adjustmen where I set it to "middle" setting.

Unless u r very particular about temp setting on the hot water. Do U want 60 deg? Which is like hot spring water while I was in Japan. Get digital if u r so concern on that. Actually above 42 deg is already very hot for me. I like lukewarm water which is 38 to 39 deg. Just slighly above my body temp. So using the normal heater and adjust thru the water tap mixer can get it.

For me I'm not very particular about water temperature... So long as its lukewarm cam already... If not, its too hot and will cause burning....

Previously my house was using Joven water heater, think broke down after abt 7-8 yrs....

Some claim that aos bath heaters can last a 25yrs...

My previous ariston 30Litre storage heater lasted more than 10 years which I find quite good . When I was looking for replacement. I find out that the market price for the plumber to do the installation is not cheap. It was at least min standard $180 across. Went to hoe kee, Sim siang Choon and all told me the same thing. Even a direct model replacement without modifying the water pipe inlet out to the heater also charged the same place. That why I find from my old 30 litres upgraded to 40 litres to AOS heater is quite worth it.

I would say the benefit digital series of AOS is not really for temp setting... temp setting is done by the mixer of the shower set.. but the sensors in the tank that provides the hot water level, current temperature of the water details show on the display. So went you want to take a quick shower can know if there is enough hot water or not, when you just reach home you know after how long hot water is ready. Basically the ability to know your current hot water information...

The normal water tank, you will just on and wait for XX minutes and hope you have enough hot water to last.. maybe you don't need to turn on the heater as there's enough hot water remaining from previous shower but you'll never know.

In a way the digital display helps you save electricity in the long run. Of course there are other functions like timer, automatically on off, temperature setting so hot water don't get too hot which will reduce tank life & etc. Can read from AOS website.

Anyone knows who I can call to fixed a water pipe leaking from a gas water heater ?

All the plumbers online said they don't do gas water heater even though it is not the gas pipe leaking.

Called citygas and they said they don't provide such services.

The water is leaking on the piping toward the inlet or outlet from the gas heater

or

the water is leaking from the body of the gas heater?

Inlet connector to the gas water heater.

I asked more than 5 plumbers all say don't do gas water heater even though it is clear that it is just a normal water pipe connector. Likely scared of the liability should the gas portion have issues

Probably the plumber misunderstooded and ended up rejected your job.

As long not fixing or alterations of gas pipe. Any plumbers can do the job. The gas supply can be safety isolated. Either from the valve to the heater or the main valve at your gas meter.

Do u actually shown the water leaking video to the plumbers or just describe thru phone call? Worst case just tell the plumbers it is a storage heater water inlet leaking..

Yes. Took pictures, sent , circled , tell them water inlet pipe the joint to the connector leaking.

I just suspect it is a liability issue.

Ya. They just want to stay clear of anything related to any gas appliance.

Do u try Duncan Plumber? He might advise u on what to do.
