I am using 40L and yes have to keep it on throughout the filling of the bath tub. So probably u should have idea what is the min capacity u need.

hi guys, I'm looking to get a 30L storage water heater and shortlisted these 2 models from Rubine and Rheem :

1) Rubine SPH 30S SIN 3.0(I)
http://www.rubine.com.sg/UploadedImg/Product/Space - Product Spec Sheet.pdf
Dimensions in mm 495 length x 355 diameter
Price around $185

2) Rheem EHG-30
https://s3.amazonaws.com/WebPartners/ProductDocuments/8D619705-2203-4F01-B168-EAE1D0454267.pdf
Dimensions in mm 540 length x 380 diameter
Price around $150

I did consider 707 Kensington and Joven too, but these 2 only came in 25L and 35L (I felt that 25L was too small for my 4-rm BTO whereas 35L might be too big as far as my space constrained bathroom was concerned.

The Rubine model I shortlisted (SPH 30S) is the smallest size-to-water-volume ratio I could find across all brands, and I thought that this was especially useful in my space-constrained bathroom. A little pricier though, at least compared to the Rheem.

On the other hand, the Rheem one was much cheaper but relatively bigger in size.

I'm kinda leaning towards the Rubine one, but wanted to hear if anyone had any comments or reviews on Rubine storage heaters ? I know they are a huge brand on bathroom accessories and are also very big on the instant water heaters segment, but I don't see Rubine storage heaters sold so often when I walk the bathroom accessories shops.

Given that Both Rheem EHG-30 & Rubine SPH 30S tech specs almost identical.
ur deciding factor would be the cost & safety. installation may cost almost same price of storage heater. The extra cost in refitted piping or install in conceal or normal ceiling. suggest u shortlist retailer that offer u bundle deal with licensed plumber installation. in any case, avoid the chain store hoe kee hardware. had bad experience of ordering rubine remote control arch series. only to be inform stock is cancel after 2wks. No cust svc to recommend similar model and refund process took almost 3 mths despite follow-up:cautious:

does the water storage heater you choose affect the water pressure, or it is purely based on the floor level? What is the average/rough water pressure if floor is at level 8? Will it be enough for a 280mm rain shower head?

@yeahbeatitscrub
Storage heater has consistent pressure, while instant heater has consistent temperature.
im using 707 Storage Water Heater model is Dalton

The rated pressure is 0.8mpa. sufficiently strong pressure at hdb level 6 with 2 shower heads
all storage heater can support rain shower. while selected model instant heater [inbuilt pump] can support.

The HDB water pressure rating is managed by PUB. maintained by ur town council TC as part of conservancy charges paid. The water pressure is set outside with water meter. with the incoming flow to ur unit taps and valves. which basically are just open or close output water fixture

u can refer below link to check ur piping outside b4 contacting ur TC to test water pressure. its free service ;)

My joven 25L heater tank, less than a year of usage just died on me, power trip the main switch when turn on. Invoice was more than a year so LLST. Went to search around and found Homeone , they recommended Rheem but everything include installation is at least 500... I remember Rheem was only 150 for the heater alone. Tho they say the installation will be sui sui. Anyone has other recommendations?

Nope. They haven't come down yet. At first say it is normal. Then say will check is it the house water pressure too high. Damn weird, why I never hear anyone else having this problem
Ya very weird actually. I always have a good impression of AO smith products which r long lasting n durable. Hope it gets resolved soon.

Your problem seems to be electrical that failed to protect your appliances rather than the Joven heater itself. If you do not look into this, there might be future occurences as well.
Joven storage heater failing less than a year is unlikely.
