Just went there yesterday. Thinking of getting their Gen 6 model.

I using my own installer as package inside my reno. If not, will consider getting their installer. Higher cost but at least min issue.

I see, Gen6 40L cost 850 installation. I low SES find it too x.

planning to get a standard 30L tank+smart switch+ installation cost 400-450.

just to check, I saw Ariston only use 1.5kW heating element while Rheem & Jovern use 3kW. Anyone find Ariston heats water slow?

If it's below boiling point, I doubt pressure increases so much. 2 bar boiling point is still 100+ deg C.

Something is wrong if you are heating up to 100+ deg C.
Ariston said water pressure issue, plumber said Ariston PRV issue. Wrote to PUB and Enterprise SG of PUB, yet no one can solve this just because Ariston said is normal. I knew this is not normal as cannot be daily basis. Everytime on the heater the water will leaks from the PRV and is leaking in a fast mode continuously.

Guys, my 20l Ariston Slim model broke down since 3rd Dec after 4 years. While the heater is still under warranty, the service team told me due to a lack of stock, they are unable to give me a timeline to replace my leaking heater.

I have been waiting for 10 days now and the servicer just ignored me. What should I do? Should I just buy another new heater or do I wait for a replacement? :(

Any reliable water heater that can last to recommend?

Contribute a bit back to the thread.
I decided to go with Rheem EHG-25S, reason being
1. Rheem is an established brand
2. EHG range lasts in market very long ad, sort of proven
3. Price OK, I put it in common toilet which I don't care about aesthetics
4. S model is a slimmer version, considered to take 40S but plumber suggested 25S enough for 2pax

Tank: bought in shopee with voucher, think 180-200 like that
Installation: 150+ 15 (further electrical installation location). I installed it in common toilet

Usage: Water heat up fast (I skip Ariston due to 1.5kW heater, EHG using 3kW, aka faster). Normally my wife on before she starts to bath, and switch off after. I continue my bath without switching the heater on and still have sufficient hot water, even for the next day morning bath too.

The only downside is that I don't know the remaining hot water in the tank, but tbh, I never have any problem of insufficient hot water.

er...whack them? If they don't have stock, either they replace with another equivalent model, if not get their agreement then you will find other brand and back charge them. if not think can lodge a file to complaint?

Of course the bottomline is that the fault must be covered by warranty, and acknowledged by Ariston...

Does HDB allow 2 storage heaters i.e. one in each bathroom and has anyone done this? Thinking of reducing the piping for a central storage heater. Thanks.

er..your bathroom very far apart? if is short distance doubt the pressure drop bother that much

you probably have to re-run many pipes, unless you plan to tear down the whole unit and redo everything la...

Yeh. Planning to buy a 30+ years resale so rather redo all the electrical and plumbing works & one time refresh than do ad-hoc jobs later.

not an expert on this, but doubt 2 storage heater is an issue in terms of HDB rule, it is like no rule that stop you from getting 2 oven...just take note to install the suitable power supply connection depend on your heater size

of course you can also double check with your ID since you redo everything, he/she should be able to advise you, or he/she can check with contractor

this is a never ending debate. generally
instant-> cheaper, lower usage cost, faster heat up, lower pressure (can try those with booster pump though..), not so asthestically pleasant at the shower area
storage-> good & stable hot water, higher pressure (limit by your HDB water pressure also though..), more flexibiltiy with your shower system, higher usage cost (can be low if you use it correctly..), need to hide it somewhere, need to switch on 5-10 mins before bath and must off after use..

generally, if your new flat has built-in piping ready for storage heater, then just use storage lo, just that if you have been using instant, then have to adjust your shower habit for storage heater

I'm getting my resale flat next month. Have been using instant all my life. Now thinking of switching to storage. As I'm staying alone, does it mean in morning I have to switch it on while bathing (off after bath) but at night no need to turn it off?

AoS have instant storage heater.
But at premium price. No need wait 5-10mins.

I am using Ariston but because I dont bathe with super hot water generally i could just turn on heater, walk into the bathe and start bathing. No need wait because water already felt warm enough unless you like bathing with super hot water then yes, wait is required to ensure the perfect temp for the duration of your bathe.

I will reckon to switch it off. I think low for some people because they signed up for those flexi electricity provider which gave better rates for off peak. A lot of smart storage heater in the market can schedule on off these days.

Trying to decide between Joven JH-35 35L and 707 Kensington Storage Water Heater 35L.

https://joven-electric.com/product/storage-water-heater/jh-series/jh35
https://707.com.sg/product/storage-water-heater-kensington-35/

I am leaning towards Kensington and would appreciate if anyone can advise based on your experience/knowledge:
  1. Both have 10-year warranty - Is there anything else that I need to be aware of?
  2. Joven mentions that it can retain the heat up to 20 hours or longer - Does anyone knows if that is the same/similar for Kensington?
  3. Buying two storage heaters (master toilet and common toilet) as the two toilets are located far away within the HDB. There is a total of 2 users in the household (1 user for each toilet) and each toilet is installed with rainshower - Is storage capacity of 25L sufficient for each toilet or should I go for a higher storage capacity of 35L?

Thank you!!

i am using 707 25L for 1 rainshower in 1 bathroom for 2 pax. if you are constantly using 2 bathrooms with 2 rainshower then i think you need 35L
